Graduate Master Builder
The ultimate symbol of the building professional, the Graduate Master Builder (GMB) designation is for experienced veterans only. Before beginning this National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) designation process, you must have either the Certified Graduate Builder (CGB), Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR), or Certified Graduate Associate (CGA) designation with five years of building experience and have completed three CGB/CGR/CGA courses. GMB courses are more advanced with in-depth instruction geared for experienced building professionals.
Certified Graduate Builder
The Certified Graduate Builder (CGB) certification is an intensive general program for builders and remodelers that offers a complete overview of key areas to succeed in home building. A builder must complete nine courses initially and one approved course each year thereafter to maintain their standing.
Certified Graduate Remodeler
Designed by industry experts, Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) accreditation is a business management program for those in the remodeling field. To earn this designation remodelers must accumulate five years of experience with a remodeling company as an owner, manager or supervisor, attain a minimum of 200 points out of a maximum of 450 points on the CGR Professional Profile, provide three business-related letters of recommendation, and successfully complete CGB/CGR courses.
Certified Aging-In-Place (CAPS) Specialist
The Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist is offered through the National Home Builders Association and ensures a remodelor has learned the technical, business management and customer service skills essential to providing home remodeling for the fastest growing segment of the residential remodeling industry - the aging-in-place population.
